Southern Social: Country Night at the Deer House

Pull on your cowboy boots and prepare for an evening filled with great country music, lively dancing, and a fantastic atmosphere – in conjunction with the FortyFive Vinyl Café, York.

Taking centre stage is Wood Burnt Red, described as the “UK’s answer to Brothers Osborne” by Elles Bailey on Planet Rock. The band has built an impressive following, achieving more than half a million streams on Apple Music and earning a place on the platform’s respected Today’s Country playlist. Their music combines the edge of southern rock with the storytelling spirit of country, delivering soaring guitar lines, powerful harmonies, and songs that leave a lasting impression.

Joining the line-up is award-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Luke Flear. With his distinctive, gravel-toned vocals and wide-ranging musical style, Flear moves seamlessly between high-energy guitar-driven tracks, intimate acoustic performances, and emotive piano pieces. His sound draws on classic Americana while weaving in strong rock influences.

If you fancy learning a few moves, Darren and Jane from Harrogate Dance Centre will be teaching a few fun and easy line dances. No experience required. Easy steps, good music, good fun.

A full bar will be available throughout the evening, with pulled pork buns and sides available to purchase until 8pm.
